On the off chance someone can make use of it I'd like to share things I've found relative to my 89LX
1991 fuel pump assembly is a bolt in as long as you get the short wiring harness that goes with it to plug into the original vehicle harness. Use the gasket from the 91 or trim the holding/retaining 'nubs' off the 89 as they're in different locations between the two years, barring that either gasket will fit.
Front speakers are 6.5"
Rear speakers are 6.25" contrary to anything made today or anything I can find online.
You can trim the very outside ring of 6.5" speakers to fit the rear duct? funnel? that fits over the originals. The speakers I used had a 3 hole option and everything lined up, no other mods necessary.
I used kenwood kfc 1666s speakers front and rear though the rears sound different to me. I don't know if it's from the location or if the head unit or amp are pulling some of the bass since it has sub/mid woofer.
The original sub is long gone and finding a replacement for the original box is a problem. I replaced the original in around 1993 and have no record of what it was. The box is made for a 6.5" what I found back then and found NOS of in 2026 is a Morel MW 166 4 ohm 6" which is a mid-woofer. Sounds OK to my ears.
The LX came with a factory separate CD player that died long ago. You can wire a stereo into the CD harness which runs through the factory stereo through 5 channels to the original amp. Strange but it works.
1991 exterior door handles are a bolt in.
1991 interior rear view mirror is a bolt in.
Rear drum brake slave cylinders measure 0.625" bore
Unless admin tells me otherwise I'll do an occasional info dump in this thread as I find things to share.

Thanks, hope it helps someone.

I found that the manual transmission mount (driver's side rear) found on almost all websites is not what was original on my car (wife had it since new). The online one shows a single plate coming off the center of the mount, mine has that one plus another 2nd plate. The mount I used is from a 91 Mazda 626 and is identical to the original with two plates coming off the mount bushing.

I have the factory service manual, below are the torque specs along with what I torqued to.
center (passenger side) nuts to engine bracket 47-66 - torqued to 60
through bolt & nut - by feel 70+ no torque wrench access
left (driver side front) bolts 27-38 - torqued to 70
through bolt & nut 49-69 - torqued to 70
right (driver side rear) transmission bolts(turbo) 58-86 - I torqued to 35
through bolt & nut 63-86 - torqued to 70
turbo and non turbo clutch housing to transaxle case 27-38 <-- this is where the right/driver's side rear mount bolts to the transmission and just happens to be the same as the book quoted for the left mount
left and right are correct by diagram but I think they got torque mixed up between the two
